Volodin: only people with a military specialty should be admitted to civil service

State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said that the experience of military service and the presence of a military specialty will be necessary for admission to the civil service, as well as for participation in deputy elections. In his opinion, in the future, all personnel decisions should be made taking into account such experience.
“To hold a position in the public service, participate in the elections of deputies of the State Duma, hold a position in the judiciary, in the prosecutor’s office, it is mandatory to have a military specialty and serve in the Armed Forces,” Mr. Volodin said at the plenary session (quote from “ Interfax).
The speaker of the State Duma believes that a system of personnel lifts should be created, when every citizen, regardless of work, “can and must defend the country.” He urged “no distinction should be made between those who fight and those who work.”
This is not the first time that Mr. Volodin has suggested that only those who have served in the civil service be recruited – he had previously spoke about this at the end of September, after the announcement of partial mobilization in Russia. Vyacheslav Volodin himself did not serve in the army – after graduating from the Saratov Institute of Agricultural Mechanization, he entered graduate school. The speaker of the State Duma has the rank of state adviser 1st class, which corresponds to the rank of colonel.
