Volodin called on the UN to condemn Biden’s actions around Taiwan

US President Joe Biden needs the conflict over Taiwan to divert the attention of American voters from the country’s internal problems, the UN should condemn Biden’s provocative actions, declared Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin in his Telegram channel.

According to the speaker of the State Duma, Washington is preparing the fate of Ukraine for Taiwan, and Biden is making a mistake, intending to purchase weapons for the island from the funds allocated to Kyiv.

“The Kyiv regime has failed to live up to Washington’s expectations. The United States foresees the failure of its policy in the Ukrainian direction. Before the risk of losing hegemony, they are looking for salvation in a new conflict,” Volodin wrote.

He listed the problems of the States, including high inflation, instability of the financial sector and the growth of the state budget deficit. In addition, according to Volodin, Biden’s own rating is “breaking anti-records”, and he will not win the election.

“The conflict over Taiwan is needed by the out of his mind Biden to divert the attention of voters from the internal problems of the United States <...> Hypocritically speaking about adherence to the “one China” principle, Washington is doing everything to make Taiwan anti-China,” he explained.

The chairman of the lower house of parliament called on the UN to condemn the “provocative actions” of the American president, “and not be silent, wanting to survive.” If the organization cannot prevent conflict and ensure global security, then the meaning of existence in it is “exactly as much as it was in the liquidated League of Nations,” Volodin added.

Biden plans to ask Congress to fund arms purchases for Taiwan as part of a request for additional budgetary funds for Ukraine. informed earlier the Financial Times, citing two sources. The United States recognizes China as the only Chinese state, but it also has formal obligations to Taiwan.
