Volodin called for tougher punishment for selling vapes to minors
State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said that the law banning the sale of vapes to minors, adopted a year ago, is not working effectively enough, since “someone prefers to pay a fine” or circumvent the ban.
“Punishments for violators are small compared to the potential profit,” Volodin wrote in his Telegram channel.
Volodin said aldehydes, glycols, volatile organic compounds and other components of e-cigarette aerosols can pose a danger to those who use them.
The deputy said that he considers it right to establish an effective punishment, such as suspending the operation of a retail outlet, and increase fines.
