Volodin called 2023 a defining year for Russia and the world

The coming year will determine a lot in the development of Russia and the whole world and should become a year of common victory, informed State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin in his Telegram channel.

“2023 will determine a lot in the development of Russia, as well as the whole world for many decades to come… The coming year, based on the unity of our citizens, should become a year of development, a year of common Victory,” he wrote.

To do this, “we all need to work more efficiently”, each in his own area, the speaker of the State Duma added. Russia in 2023, Volodin believes, has gone through historical events, among which he named the president’s decisions to ensure the security and protection of the country’s sovereignty, as well as confronting sanctions and challenges. According to him, in 2023 the results of the processes launched last year will appear.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his New Year’s address, which he wrote surrounded by the military, named 2022 will be a year of difficult decisions and powerful consolidation of Russian society. According to the President, 2022 has become a milestone on which the foundation of the true independence of the Russian Federation has been laid. “This is what we are fighting for today,” Putin said.

The President mentioned in his speech the West, which “lied about peace and was preparing for aggression, which today it admits without hesitation.” According to him, Western countries cynically used Ukraine and its people to split Russia, but the historical truth is on our side.

Putin also thanked the participants in the special operation for their fortitude and courage and expressed confidence that Russia would overcome all difficulties and remain great and independent.
