State Duma Speaker Volodin: Russia has suspended the payment of contributions to the OSCE PA
The Council of the State Duma of the Russian Federation has decided to suspend the payment of contributions to the Parliamentary Assembly (PA) of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in 2023. This was stated by Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin.
As the speaker of the lower house of parliament noted, Russia is facing attempts to interfere with the work of its delegation during the work of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. Therefore, it makes no sense to pay for something in which Russia does not participate.
“If they don’t let me work this year, we will demand that the previously paid contribution be returned,” Volodin said, commenting on the decision of the State Duma Council. The OSCE PA has not yet commented on the situation.
