Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin announced a record for the number of laws adopted by parliament. According to the speaker, the State Duma adopted 653 bills this year. This is a record in the entire history of the work of the Russian parliament, Volodin emphasized during the plenary meeting of the State Duma.

On Tuesday, December 20, the State Duma adopted a bill on life imprisonment for sabotage. The new law provides for criminal liability up to life imprisonment for the creation of a sabotage community in Russia, training and assistance to saboteurs, as well as for their sponsorship and propaganda.
The bill proposes to introduce three new articles into the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
