Vocalist of “Porn Films” will be checked for extremism

The police will check the statements of the leader of the punk rock group “Pornofilmy” Vladimir Kotlyarov in social networks for extremism. The check will be carried out at the musician’s place of registration in Dubna, Moscow Region.
According to “RIA News” citing a source, a certain man filed a complaint against Mr. Kotlyarov with the Moscow police. In the message, he noted that signs of extremism may be in the statements of the musician in social networks. The Moscow police sent the statement to their colleagues in Dubna for verification.
In Telegram TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak notedthat the applicant was a man named Zubtsovsky. He complained about the posts in Telegram and Instagram (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) by Vladimir Kotlyarov. At first, the materials of the check were in the Department of Internal Affairs for the North-Western District of Moscow. On August 10, they were transferred to the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city district of Dubna, where the musician is registered.
It is still unknown under which particular article providing for responsibility for extremism, the social networks of Vladimir Kotlyakov are being checked. There are four such articles in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation: public calls for extremist activity (Article 280), inciting hatred or enmity (Article 282), organizing an extremist community (Article 282.1), organizing the activities of an extremist organization (Article 282.2).
Founded in 2008 by Vladimir Kotlyarov, the Pornofilmy group in Dubna gained wide popularity after the release of their fourth album, In the Range Between Despair and Hope. In November 2021, the song “Kill the Beggars!” was included in the list of extremist materials, but in February 2022, the court canceled this is the solution. Since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, the group has been making anti-war statements. According to “Fontanki”Vladimir Kotlyarov is included in the list of “banned Russian artists”.
