Vladislav Tretyak awarded the winners of the children’s tournament in Yekaterinburg

One of the most prestigious children’s tournaments in the country, the Vladislav Tretyak Cup, ended in Yekaterinburg. On April 28, the participating teams and the winner of the tournament were congratulated by the vice-governor of the Sverdlovsk region Oleg Chemezov, the head of Yekaterinburg Alexei Orlov and the famous hockey player himself, the president of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation Vladislav Tretiak.

Oleg Chemezov noted that people in the Sverdlovsk region love hockey and are always happy to host competitions and tournaments in this sport.

“Governor Evgeny Kuyvashev is doing a lot for the development of hockey: palaces, hockey courts are being built, professional teams are playing, from which children take an example, and there is a good base for educating the younger generation of talented hockey players, and this is a great reserve for the development of hockey in the future,” – said Oleg Chemezov.

The tournament was held from 22 to 28 April at two venues in Yekaterinburg at once: Arena Avto and Spartakovets. The competition was attended by ten strongest teams of boys under 14 from all over the country, as well as two teams from the Republic of Belarus and Kazakhstan.

The Sverdlovsk Region has been hosting the Cup for the second year in a row. According to Vladislav Tretyak, the Sverdlovsk region is famous for its love of hockey.

“I thank the governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Evgeny Vladimirovich Kuyvashev, and his team, which did a lot to hold such a wonderful tournament. Ten best teams of our country played here, you showed good hockey. Yes, today you can congratulate the CSKA team on their victory, but I think there are no losers here, because you play your favorite sport, and hockey is our national pride. We are multiple Olympic champions, world champions. And our President plays hockey. The Sverdlovsk region loves hockey, there are 38 hockey stadiums. So thank you very much for the development of this sport,” said Vladislav Tretiak.

In Yekaterinburg, the following teams fought for the victory in the tournament: Atlant (Mytishchi), Avangard (Omsk), Torpedo (Nizhny Novgorod), Dynamo (Minsk), Admiral (Vladivostok), Avto-Spartakovets (Yekaterinburg), CSKA (Moscow), Dynamo (St. Petersburg), Sibir (Novosibirsk), Severstal (Cherepovets), Aksai (Rostov-on-Don), Barys (Astana) ). In total, 35 games were held within the framework of the competition. From April 22 to April 27, preliminary matches in groups were held, and on April 28, the decisive matches of the tournament took place.

The CSKA team became the winner of the 2023 Vladislav Tretyak Cup.

The head of Yekaterinburg, Alexei Orlov, noted that the victory of the CSKA team is a great gift to the club in its anniversary year – the 100th anniversary.

According to the Sverdlovsk Information Policy Department, Vladislav Tretiak is a frequent visitor to the Sverdlovsk Region. In 2022, he also came to “his” Cup, in August, together with Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev, he took part in laying the stone for the construction of the second phase of the Datsyuk Arena in the center of Yekaterinburg, and in October last year he opened a new multifunctional court built on the territory of a socially -rehabilitation center in the village of Martyush, Kamensky district.
