The head of state emphasized that the Russian Orthodox Church and other Christian denominations make a huge contribution to the preservation of historical and cultural heritage, as well as to the patriotic education of the younger generation. He also noted the efforts of religious organizations aimed at supporting the heroes – participants of the Northern Military District, residents of Donbass and Novorossia.
Vladimir Putin wished Orthodox Christians, everyone who celebrates Christmas, health, prosperity and success.
The head of state came to the Christmas service at the home church of the Savior Not Made by Hands in Novo-Ogaryovo. Together with Putin, the families of military personnel who died in the Northern Military District were present at the service.
