Vladimir Putin will meet with Delovaya Rossiya and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs in March

Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet in early March with the leadership of the Delovaya Rossiya organization. This was reported to Vedomosti by two sources close to the presidential administration.

According to one of them, communication with business will take place in the Kremlin: the head of state can discuss with entrepreneurs, including issues related to overcoming sanctions pressure and support measures. He draws attention to the fact that meetings with business are scheduled after the President’s message to the Federal Assembly.

The President has not communicated with business associations since the beginning of the military operation in Ukraine. The last such meeting with “representatives of Russian business circles” (and not a specific organization) took place on February 24, 2022, after Putin announced the start of hostilities, wrote formerly Vedomosti. He addressed the entrepreneurs with a corresponding message: “Unfortunately, our meeting with you is taking place in, to put it mildly, non-standard conditions, although we planned it in advance.” The President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Alexander Shokhin, made a report to the head of state at that time, who noted that the new sanctions would be much tougher than all the previous ones, and would affect many sectors: the financial sector, extractive industries, and the supply of technological equipment. “They will affect certain types of both raw materials and components, and supply chains, transport and logistics chains may be disrupted,” he predicted.

After the meeting with Delovaya Rossiya Putin, as Vedomosti wrote on February 14, Putin will meet with another large association of entrepreneurs, the RSPP. His participation is expected at the congress of the organization on March 16, members of the RSPP bureau are also waiting for communication. “For entrepreneurs, this is a chance to speak out on pressing problems and propose ways to solve them,” said a Vedomosti source close to the presidential administration. Business at such a meeting will certainly express a dissenting opinion on the contribution to the budget, which was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov, political scientist Konstantin Kostin noted.

In addition, after the message to the Federal Assembly (it took place on February 21 – Vedomosti), it will be necessary to transfer the work with the priorities outlined in it to the working plane, pointed out Kostin: “The tasks will need to be discussed with all significant groups, including business.” In his opinion, among the topics that can be raised within the framework of the RSPP events is economic sovereignty and technological sovereignty as part of it, since now this is an “existential challenge for Russia.”
