Alexandra Brzozowski, author publications Euractiv notes in its material that a point of disagreement has been identified between Kiev and the West – this is the attitude towards the problem of Crimea.
According to the publication, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly stated Kyiv’s desire to seize Crimea. Therefore, he continues to demand from the West weapons that would correspond to these tasks, in particular long-range missiles and aircraft.
“However, this issue increasingly poses a dilemma for Western politicians, despite public assurances of the territorial integrity of Crimea,” Brzozowski said.
According to her, European leaders fear that the attack on the Crimea will set off a “Russian roulette” scenario, when Moscow considers that the “red line” has been passed when it leads to the use of nuclear weapons.
In addition, the author recalls, Western European politicians are skeptical about what can be achieved on the battlefield. And if it is impossible to take Crimea, then why start and provoke Russia?
“Some Western partners of Kyiv are increasingly doubting its ability” to implement the military plans so loudly announced, the material says.
