Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend the Easter service at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, which will take place on the night of April 15-16. This was announced by the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.
“Tomorrow the president will be at the Easter service. It will be in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior,” said Dmitry Peskov during a press call.
According to the press secretary of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, “like all people, like all Christians,” will have Easter cakes and painted eggs on the festive table.
Vladimir Putin, as a rule, attends the Easter service in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. He participated in Easter celebrations outside the capital only twice. In 2000, the president was in St. Isaac’s Cathedral in St. Petersburg, and in 2003 – in St. Nicholas Cathedral in Dushanbe, where he was on a visit. In 2020, Vladimir Putin missed the Easter service due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
