Vladimir Mau relieved of the post of Rector of the RANEPA

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin dismissed Vladimir Mau from the post of rector of the RANEPA. Mr. Mau decided to leave the position on his own, due to his state of health. Aleksey Komissarov has been appointed Acting Rector.
“Vladimir Mau, who served as the rector of the RANEPA, was relieved of this post at his own request due to health conditions,” the statement reads. press releasepublished on the government website.
Alexey Komissarov has been working at RANEPA since 2017. Since 2018, he has also held the post of director of the ANO “Russia – the Land of Opportunities”. Previously, he headed the Industrial Development Fund for two years, and also worked in the Moscow government.
Vladimir Mau was a defendant in the case of fraud on an especially large scale as part of an organized group, the case stopped in October 2022. The investigation considered him involved in the non-fulfillment of agreements between the Moscow Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences (Shaninka) and the Foundation for New Forms of Education Development and in the fictitious employment of 12 employees. Mau pleaded not guilty. In November he left for Israel. at RANEPA spokethat he is “on a planned vacation.”
