In the Pskov region, sports are actively developing, but there are unresolved problems. Vladimir Kuz, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy, Agroindustrial Complex, Ecology and Environmental Management of the Pskov Regional Assembly of Deputies, announced this on the air of PLN FM radio (102.6 FM).
“In the Pskov region, sports are developing by leaps and bounds thanks to the support of the governor, he is actively involved in the development of sports. In addition to FOKOTs [физкультурно-оздоровительный комплекс открытого типа], we have workout areas, playgrounds with a sports component. We have outdoor exercise equipment for the elderly and citizens with disabilities,” Vladimir Kuz listed the positive changes in the field of sports. He also recalled that sports competitions and events are regularly held in the region, eminent athletes appear who win Russian and world championships.
According to the guest of the studio, despite the active development of sports, there are certain problems.
“This is a large number of sports facilities that need to be repaired, and the low wages of coaches, and the lack of transport to travel to competitions, the lack of travel allowances. There are a lot of problems, but gradually they are being solved. I would like the relationship between the federations within the Pskov region to be better established, so that they could talk about martial arts, football – we have many sports schools, ”said Vladimir Kuz and called on the leadership of the Pskov region sports committee to be “closer to the ground”, talk with coaches and federations.
Vladimir Kuz also drew attention to another problem – the collection of children for competitions, which is expensive for parents.
