Vladimir Kara-Murza was sent to a punishment cell in a pre-trial detention center for resting on the “shkonka” after getting up

Politics Vladimir Kara-Murza (recognized by the Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent), who was arrested in the case of fakes about the Russian army, was sent to the punishment cell of the Vodnik pre-trial detention center for four days. How RBC said his lawyer Vadim Prokhorov, the politician was placed in a punishment cell, because he was lying on the “rack” after getting up.

“The formal reason is as follows: that allegedly within a few days – on February 18, 19 and 21, he lay down on a bunk, on a bed, within a day after getting up,” said Vadim Prokhorov. He stressed that the client had not been reprimanded because of this before. In addition, it is not known that anyone in a pre-trial detention center was sent to a punishment cell for this, especially for four days, the lawyer said.

Vladimir Kara-Murza has been in a pre-trial detention center since April 2022 in the case of fakes about the army. The reason for the arrest was a speech in the Arizona House of Representatives, in which he spoke about the “Putin regime”, which “drops bombs on residential areas, on hospitals and schools” in Ukraine. During the arrest in the pre-trial detention center, the politician was charged under two more criminal articles: Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (high treason), part 1 of Art. 284.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (carrying out activities of a foreign organization recognized as undesirable).

Vladimir Kara-Murza believes that he is being persecuted because of his political activities. In December he informedthat he is not allowed to talk on the phone with children he has not spoken to since April 2022.
