Moscow will start producing electronic components that were previously bought abroad. A company based in the Technopolis Moscow SEZ will produce chiplets – these are microcircuits designed to create the basis of electronic circuit boards.

“Earlier, in the process of creating chips, systems on a chip purchased from foreign manufacturers were used. The specialists of the enterprise created the design of the product and sent it to a foreign factory, from where they received a ready-made chip,” said Vladimir Yefimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations.

He added that the company has mastered the complex technological process of welding crystals and will set up its own production of such elements in Pechatniki. In total, 33 resident companies operate in the microelectronics cluster of the SEZ. They master new technologies that optimize the production of electronic components.

According to Vladislav Ovchinsky, head of the Investment and Industrial Policy Department, in the first three quarters of last year, SEZ residents specializing in microelectronics created over 800 new jobs. In addition, they invested about 15 billion rubles in their development.

“The SpetsElektronSystems company occupies about a thousand square meters. meters, while 700 sq. meters of them – the so-called “clean rooms”, – added General Director of the SEZ “Technopolis Moscow” Gennady Degtev.
