Russian social network VKontakte announced new design for communities: now the authors will be able to personalize the appearance of the public and edit the “content showcase”. New monetization tools have also appeared, including one-time donations.
On the “content showcase”, the author can place fresh and relevant materials, as well as put photos, videos or audio tracks in the first place, if, for example, an artist, blogger or musician is involved in the community. At the top there is an info section where you can see a compact description of the community. The author’s dashboard will appear, where you can analyze the reaction of viewers to video content and see statistics, data on retention, engagement, and subscriber activity for all content and individual videos.
One-time donations will appear among the new monetization tools. Also, the authors who publish stories and clips more often will have the opportunity to increase their earnings, there will be experiments to expand the limits for direct and native advertising in communities. In general, in the first eight months of 2022, the authors earned over 3 billion rubles on VKontakte monetization tools.
In VK Clips, it will be possible to launch mobile broadcasts and publish clips on the web version of VKontakte. There will also be an improved vertical roller editor. In the “Stories” section, personal collections for each user will appear, it will also be possible to attach external links and set privacy for individual stories.
