Vitaly Khotsenko applied for participation in the elections of the head of the Omsk region

Acting Governor Vitaliy Khotsenko filed to the election commission of the Omsk region documents for participation in the elections of the head of the region. Conference of the regional branch (RO) of “United Russia” put forward his candidacy on 19 June. 90 out of 100 conference participants voted for Khotsenko.
Acting Governor in his Telegram channel thanked for the trust of the President of the Russian Federation and “Omsk residents, who received me very warmly in the region.” As Kommersant reported, Vitaly Khotsenko was appointed Acting Governor of the Omsk Region on March 29, 2023 after the early resignation of the Right-wing Russian Governor Alexander Burkov. Previously, he served as chairman of the government of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
To date, the intention to participate in the gubernatorial elections of the Regional Electoral Committee notified six people, including Vitaly Khotsenko. Four of them were nominated by political parties. In addition to Mr. Khotsenko, these are the first secretary of the regional committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Andrei Alekhin, the first secretary of the regional branch of the Communists of Russia Vladimir Kazanin and the coordinator of the LDPR RO Maxim Makalenko. In addition, Deputy General Director of Allur Security Company LLC Yuri Alexandrov and unemployed Vadim Cherkin put forward their candidacies themselves.
