Visa-free regime for Georgian citizens entering Russia comes into force

From May 10, 2023, Georgian citizens will be able to visit Russia under a visa-free regime for up to 90 days. The visa regime for Georgian citizens that had been in force since 2000 was abolished by a decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Now, to enter Russia, Georgian citizens only need to present their passport at customs.
In addition, the President of the Russian Federation also lifted the ban on flights by Russian airlines and the sale of tours to Georgia, which had been in effect since 2019. However, it is not yet known when the airlines will start operating regular flights between Moscow and Tbilisi.
