The head coach of the Russian rhythmic gymnastics team, the president of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics, Irina Viner, has filed an appeal against suspension from competitions and events of the International Gymnastics Federation.
According to its representatives, the appeal has been filed with the Appeal Tribunal of the Gymnastic Ethics Foundation.
In March, this disciplinary body suspended Wiener for two years from participating in any competitions and events of the Federation. The suspension period will be counted one day after the removal of protective measures, which consist in not allowing Russian athletes to compete due to the situation in Ukraine. It was reported that the sanctions against Wiener would apply if the protective measures were removed within five years, otherwise the period would be reduced.
