Vilfand called the winter of 2024 the snowiest in recent decades
The scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand, said that this winter in Russia there is very little normal weather that would correspond to the climate.
“This winter there was very little that could be called normal winter weather appropriate to the climate,” Vilfand emphasized.
He clarified that this winter thaws are often replaced by abnormal frosts, however, the average temperature for the entire period will be approximately normal.
According to him, the winter turned out to be very snowy. The snow density is very high; such density has not been seen for several decades.
