Abnormal cold weather is expected in several regions of Russia, said Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center.
According to him, in the south-west of Siberia and the Urals, the temperature will be 14-16 degrees below normal.
“In the Chelyabinsk, Kurgan regions, it will get colder from Wednesday to 20-25 degrees below zero. In the Omsk region, starting from Wednesday, the temperature will drop to 30-32 degrees below zero,” he said.
It will also be very cold in Novosibirsk (up to -31), Tomsk (up to -37) regions and in the Altai Territory from Thursday (up to -30). In the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, as well as in Khakassia and Tuva, -35 … -37 degrees are predicted in the second half of this week.
The lowest temperature is expected in Yakutia (-34…-42 degrees) and Chukotka (-40…-44 degrees).
