Viktor Kondratyev, who represented the Kursk region at the Russian Weightlifting Cup, won an honorable third place and a bronze medal. The competition took place in Tula.
Kuryanin competed in the 109 kg weight category. He lifted 161 kilograms (snatch) and demonstrated a result of 200 kilograms (clean and jerk).
“Victor showed his fighting spirit. Due to injury, he did not train for a month. Before the Russian Cup, he said that he definitely wants to perform in Tula. As a result, I won bronze,” noted the winner’s coach Yuri Neskorodov.
He added that the athlete’s result could have been better, but, unfortunately, health problems affected him.
