The leader of the LDPR faction, Leonid Slutsky, accepted Viktor Bout into the party. He announced this during the All-Russian rally of the Liberal Democratic Party.
“A courageous man who has become a symbol of the struggle for the principles, for the spiritual and moral foundations of today’s Russia, has been in the dungeons for many years. <...> I want to thank Viktor Anatolyevich [Бута] for the decision and accept him into the ranks of the LDPR party,” Slutsky said.
