“Theater Star” Award: winners named
On Monday evening, on the Historical Stage of the Vakhtangov Theater, the winners of the most spectator theater award – “Theater Star” – were announced. She passed for the 16th time.
It is called the most spectator-based because the winners are determined not by experts, but by the jury, but by the audience, first nominating their candidates online, and then voting for them online. “This year, the award’s directorate reviewed over 24,500 proposals, and viewers nominated almost 2,000 candidates for victory in 17 nominations,” said the award’s president, editor-in-chief of Teatral magazine Valery Yakov.
– They voted very actively and I am pleased that not only famous theaters and artists received support, but also Russian foreign theaters.
This time the “Theater Star” ceremony was hosted by the magnificent actress of the theater named after. Mossovet Ekaterina Guseva and an actor of special talent of the theater. The audience voted “Zoyka’s Apartment” directed by Evgeny Pisarev at the Theater named after the best performance of the 2022/23 season. Pushkin. And the winner in the same category, but with a small-scale performance, was the work of the Vakhtangov Theater “The General and His Family” (dir. Svetlana Zemlyakova). “Krechinsky’s Wedding” at the Maly Theater (dir. Alexey Frandetti) was recognized as the best musical performance, and “Treasure Island” at RAMT (dir. Alexander Koruchekov) became the best children’s play. Vladimir Pankov was named the best director for his production of “The Mandate” based on the play of the same name by Nikolai Erdman at the Et Cetera theater.
