Resources of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (an organization banned in the Russian Federation) published a video of a UN employee who was abducted by militants in Yemen.
Bangladeshi citizen Akam Soful Anam, along with four other humanitarian workers, was captured on his way to the port city of Aden in February 2022.
On the footage, Anam turned to the international community and humanitarian organizations with a request to comply with the demands of the kidnappers and secure the release of the hostages.
The man noted that he and two of his comrades were seriously ill and could die if they were not provided with medical assistance. According to Anam, the United States, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates interfere with negotiations with jihadists.
