Vice Speaker of the State Duma Chernyshov stood up for young unmarried teachers

Detailed plans for changing the education system from school to graduate school have matured in the State Duma. Who will fight the burnout syndrome among teachers, what courses will send all class teachers and how to stop the epidemic of cruelty in schools, said State Duma Vice Speaker Boris Chernyshov. In addition, parliamentarians figured out how to instill in schoolchildren a love of work.

The education system will undergo major reforms in the near future. The fact that they are necessary – starting with the rejection of the Bologna system – said Vladimir Putin on February 21 in Gostiny Dvor. Vice Speaker of the State Duma Boris Chernyshov reassured: bachelor’s degrees will be equated with a specialty.

“To throw away graduates with bachelor’s degrees, to tell them: “You are undereducated, get out of here, take a walk” – this is not right,” the parliamentarian assured.

But the deputies decided to start the reforms not from universities, but from school. The first thing that is planned to be done is to relieve teachers by reducing the bureaucratic burden.

– What is happening now prevents teachers from directly teaching and raising children. We propose to create a single standard for the school website and upload all reporting information there. For example, now teachers are forced to regularly send reports on the number of students. First of all, military enlistment offices and universities need this. So let them look at this impersonal information on the school website, and the teacher will not waste time on this. We also need to create a post of chief secretary for bureaucratic issues under school principals in order to relieve teachers, says Chernyshov.

The system of advanced training for teachers is also planned to be changed. Now it works only for show, and even at the expense of the teachers themselves, Boris Chernyshov explained:

– You pay 3,000 rubles, and you receive a copy of the advanced training diploma via the Internet. The teacher puts it in his portfolio, and the school management sends it to the top for reporting. All professional development courses for teachers should be free of charge and through one operator using remote technologies.

Class teachers will have to do a thorough job of reading textbooks and unlearning to become a psychologist under a professional retraining program. As the vice-speaker of the State Duma noted, class teachers could have prevented tragedies with “school shooters”: they regularly left posts on social networks with hints of their bloody plans. But today educators are too busy compiling bureaucratic reports to look at the pages of their students. And even if they look, they may overlook alarm bells due to a lack of psychological knowledge.

For other members of the teaching staff, the deputies suggested establishing special psychological centers where specialists would help teachers cope with burnout. According to Boris Chernyshov, the work of any teacher is tied to professional burnout. So this measure should become a help in a whole range of measures to protect the honor and dignity of teachers, who themselves often become victims of bullying by their own students.

So far, only one solution is planned in this regard: to ban photography and video filming in the classroom, so that footage with a teacher screaming at the class does not inadvertently leak onto the Web. The deputies believe that this is not enough: the children themselves manage to bring teachers to white heat.

— It is necessary to fight the epidemic of cruelty in schools. I remember my ninth grade. Our teacher did not want to go with us to the celebration of the last bell. Some of my classmates bugged her so much that she freaked out and said: “Go on your own!”. And there are a lot of such cases, it’s just that the emphasis is never made on them. And this is the key point – the protection of the honor and dignity of the teacher, – said the vice-speaker of the lower house.

In addition, parliamentarians want to ban the bullying of teachers in social networks for frivolous photos.

– They hunted a young teacher for a photo where she and her husband posted a photo of two glasses of champagne and drew a heart on vacation at sea in the summer. She was immediately accused of instilling the wrong values ​​in children. Teachers are people too, they are alive. And if a young unmarried teacher comes to school, she still needs to somehow build a personal life. It is not always possible to build it with a Trudovik! Chernyshov complained.

By the way, the deputies propose to accustom schoolchildren to work directly from the school corridor. The deputy chairman of the lower house hastened to reassure anxious parents: no one is going to send boys to the factory, and girls to the factory. Labor education can go along two vectors. The first is to send children, if desired, to labor and employment centers, where they can receive their first skills and undergo career guidance in the format of excursions. The second vector is the success stories of prominent businessmen, politicians and artists. Chernyshov offered to tell them right in the corridors of schools, arranging expositions with photographs and notes there.

“Only you need to talk not about Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, but about your own graduates who have achieved success in life,” the deputy suggested.
