Vice Mayor Efimov: “Black Friday” increased the turnover of the capital’s stores by 35%

This year, the annual Black Friday sale, which took place from November 11 to 13, increased the average daily retail turnover in the city by 34.8%.

“The average daily turnover for the three days of the big sale in Moscow grew immediately by 34.8%. If in October it was within the limits of 16.5 billion rubles per day, then for the period of November 11–13 it amounted to 22.3 billion rubles. Sales of audio and video equipment increased the most – by 75% at once, to 993 million rubles,” said Vladimir Yefimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations.

According to the Department of Economic Policy and Development of the City of Moscow, during the days of the big sale, the average daily turnover of perfumery and cosmetics stores also seriously increased – by 44%, to 631 million rubles. Income from the sale of clothing increased by 38%, to 1.1 billion rubles a day, and footwear – by 52%, to 285.6 million rubles. Stores specializing in the sale of computers and peripherals increased their average daily turnover by 22%, to 170.8 million rubles, lighting and furniture stores – by 19%, to 1.46 billion rubles.

If we count by the number of checks, then Muscovites and guests of the capital made the most purchases in shoe and cosmetic stores – the average number of transactions made there for November 11-13 increased by 38% compared to the average level in October.
