Viber may face the first penalty for not deleting prohibited information

Messenger Viber may be fined for the first time for not deleting prohibited information. This was reported in the section of the magistrate in the Tagansky district, writes “RIA News”.

The protocol was registered under Part 2 of Art. 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (“Non-deletion by the owner of the site or the owner of an information resource in the information and telecommunication network “Internet” of information or a web page”). The fine for organizations under the article is from 800,000 rubles. up to 4 million rubles

According to the materials of the case against the fund, Wikipedia did not remove the text of the rock band’s song banned in 2010, after which Roskomnadzor drew up a protocol against Wikimedia on an administrative offense. Then, in the representative office of the fund, they demanded to stop the case and not to hold the company liable, since the legal representative of Wikimedia was not notified “and was not even identified.”
