The Council of Veterans of the SKA hockey club wrote a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which he complained about the refereeing in the KHL match SKA – Metallurg. This was reported by the publication “Sport Day by Day”.

The reason for the complaint was that Metallurg forward Igor Geraskin scored his winning goal in overtime of the match, after a foul that went unnoticed by the referees.

“Yesterday we were at the SKA game against Metallurg and were shocked by the infinitely low quality of arbitration,” — club veterans wrote in their appeal.

Representatives of the council also emphasized that if hockey players cannot achieve fair sports results in Russia, then they will have to choose other championships.

Formerly head coach of SKA Roman Rotenberg commented defeat of his team in the match with Metallurg.
