Vessels and aircraft traffic restricted in Kerch Strait – Kommersant

Movement along the Kerch Strait is limited for ships and aircraft, reports TASS with reference to the Russian Ministry of Defense. An exception is vessels sailing during the day along the fairways and recommended routes through the strait in transit or to ports in the strait, the ministry said in a statement.
“Navigation of all ships and watercraft, vehicles under water, anchoring, splashing down and flying aircraft, people in the water and other activities are prohibited in the area limited by the coastline, with the exception of ships following the fairways and recommended routes through Kerch Strait in transit or to ports located in the Kerch Strait,” the Ministry of Defense reports.
Earlier, the command of the ministry notified the authorities of Crimea and Kuban about the ban on the passage of the Kerch Strait by small boats. Pleasure boats, sailboats, inflatable boats, jet skis, windsurfers, subboards and their analogues fall under the restriction.
