Dutch driver Max Verstappen (Red Bull) won the Mexican Grand Prix – the 20th round of the Formula 1 championship. The victory was his 16th of the season. The Dutchman surpassed the record he set in 2022.

Briton Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) took second place in the race, Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) took third place. The next stage of the championship, the Brazilian Grand Prix, will take place from November 3 to 5.

The victory was Verstappen’s 51st in his career. This is the fourth result in history, the Dutchman equaled the Frenchman Alain Prost. Only Germans Sebastian Vettel (53), Michael Schumacher (91) and Briton Lewis Hamilton (103) have more victories. Schumacher and Vettel held the record for the most wins in a single season (13) until 2022.

Max Verstappen previously became world champion in Formula 1 ahead of schedule. This is his third title in his career. Red Bull also secured early victory in the Constructors’ Championship.
