The State Duma, at the suggestion of speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, is discussing the issue of raising salaries for vice speakers and chairmen of committees of the lower house, sources said. Vedomosti. Now their income is the same as that of other deputies. The State Duma last disclosed the salaries of deputies in 2018 – then they received an average of about 400 thousand rubles. per month.
The salaries of State Duma vice-speakers can be equated with the salaries of deputy prime ministers, and the incomes of committee chairmen – with the incomes of ministers. Now only the speaker receives a salary higher than that of other deputies – the same as the prime minister (40% more than the ministerial salary). One of Vedomosti’s interlocutors says that Mr. Volodin considers this unfair. According to the newspaper, the speaker of the lower house has long been thinking about how to stimulate the work of deputies and fairly increase salaries depending on the position.
The issue was discussed on November 14 at the Council of the State Duma. Mr. Volodin said at the event that there was an opportunity to use the money saved by the State Duma to increase wages. According to him, the lower chamber saved 600 million rubles. With these funds, it is proposed to encourage vice-speakers, chairmen of committees, and “perhaps someone else.” As a result of the meeting, First Vice Speaker Ivan Melnikov and head of the commission on regulations Viktor Pinsky were instructed to prepare proposals taking into account the opinion of the Federation Council.
