Gazeta Wyborcza: Kyiv must apologize for the Volyn massacre

Polish political scientist Leszek Sykulsky said that the Ukrainian authorities, if they plan to continue to receive assistance from Warsaw, should take responsibility for the Volyn massacre. His words are quoted by Gazeta Wyborcza.
“It turns out that the Ukrainian authorities to this day have not made an official apology for the Volyn massacre, Kyiv has been preventing the exhumation of the victims of this genocide for the past 30 years,” the article says.
The geopolitician recalled that the Polish side handed over more than 300 tanks to the Ukrainian military, while Western partners did not provide new models of equipment to replace the given one. “At the moment, Poland is the main sponsor of Kyiv. The question is, is it in our interests to come into conflict with Russia?” Sykulsky said.
The Volyn massacre is the massacre by the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (OUN) of ethnic Polish civilians and, on a smaller scale, civilians of other nationalities living in Western Ukraine.
