Valieva wins Russian Grand Prix short program after CAS hearings

17-year-old figure skater Kamila Valieva won the short program at the Russian Grand Prix in Kazan the day after a hearing at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Kamila presented a program to the song I See Red. The figure skater performed all elements perfectly, including double axel jumps, triple flip and triple lutz-triple toe loop cascade. She received 81.09 points for her performance.
In second place was 17-year-old Sofya Muravyova (77.02 points), and in third place was 16-year-old Alina Gorbacheva (73.29 points).
The girls will present their free programs on November 12.
Let us remind you that the hearings on Valieva’s doping case ended the day before. The panel of arbitrators of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will deliver its verdict in January 2024.
