The head coach of FC Rostov and the Russian national football team Valery Karpin told what he expects from the meeting of representatives of the RFU and UEFA, which will discuss the issue of admitting the Russian national team and Russian clubs to international competitions.
The meeting is scheduled for January 24, it will be held at the UEFA headquarters in Switzerland.
“I look forward to the meeting. I don’t expect anything else,” said Karpin quoted by Match TV.
When asked if he was glad that there was no “hasty transition” of the RFU from UEFA to the Asian Football Confederation, he replied: “I have no opinion on this matter, because I don’t know the situation”, but “is it good or bad – we’ll see.
In the spring of 2022, FIFA and UEFA suspended the Russian national team and all Russian clubs from participating in all international competitions controlled by these organizations.
In January 2023, the Court of Arbitration for Sport finally dismissed Russia’s appeal.
