Valery Karpin disqualified for two RPL matches due to insulting referees

The head coach of the Rostov football club, Valery Karpin, was disqualified for two matches of the Russian Premier League (RPL) after insulting the head referee at a match with CSKA. The decision of the control and disciplinary committee of the Russian Football Union (KDK RFU) was announced “Match TV”
The match between Rostov and CSKA took place on December 3 in Moscow in heavy snow conditions. Karpin’s club lost with a score of 0:2. After the meeting, the coach appeared on Match TV said the following: “What kind of moron, idiot, made this decision in order to see this action?” He emphasized that he considers holding a match in such conditions “the murder of football.”
The RFU CDC analyzed the recordings of the match and came to the conclusion that the coach knew who was responsible for the decision to postpone the match. Consequently, Karpin intentionally insulted the chief judge.
The committee decided to suspend the head coach from participation in two subsequent matches, one of which was suspended. He was also given a fine of 200 thousand rubles. Valery Karpin will miss the match of the 18th round of the Russian championship with Akhmat, which will be held on December 9.
