In the first match of the 13th round of the Russian Football Championship, Rostov lost to Ural at home – 1:2. Thus, the team, headed by the head coach of the Russian national team Valery Karpin, will not be able to stay in second place in the standings regardless of the outcome of the central meeting of the CSKA-Spartak tour.

Opponents in this match solve different tournament problems. Rostov, which suffered the only defeat in twelve rounds – from Zenit, is currently second. Ural, after the arrival of a new head coach Viktor Goncharenko, in recent weeks, although it has risen a little in the table, is still very close to the relegation zone.

The account nevertheless was opened by guests. Forward Alexei Kashtanov, who stood out for his activity, made a discount to Lazar Randzhelovich, who has been playing for Ural for about a month, and he, having successfully adjusted to the ball, threw the almost two-meter goalkeeper Sergei Pesyakov with an elegant “tennis” candle.

However, less than ten minutes later, the hosts answered with their goal. He was scored very calmly by Roman Tugarev from a penalty kick, appointed after using VAR for a violation of the Brazilian Emerson on Nikolai Komlichenko. Just before the break, referee Yevgeny Turbin again ran to the monitor to watch a difficult episode involving Ibraim Cisse, who almost seriously injured Komlichenko with open spikes. However, in the end, the Guinean defender received not a red, but a yellow card.

The third episode that required the intervention of VAR happened at the beginning of the second half, when Yegor Filipenko, on the verge of a foul, knocked the ball out from under the feet of the same Komlichenko in his own penalty area. And then Ural took the lead again. A very accurate pass from the right flank was very effectively used by another recent recruit from Yekaterinburg, the Dutchman Rai Vlut, who transferred from Astana in the summer, skillfully handled the ball and shot from an average distance surrounded by defenders.

The next twenty minutes were rich in emotions, but only one truly dangerous moment arose – at the gates of Rostov, when Kashtanov did not use his next chance. At the very end, the hosts went for broke. Suffice it to say that the last blow in this match on the goal of the guests was dealt by … the goalkeeper of Rostovites Sergey Pesyakov. But the score – 1:2 – has not changed.

Thus, Ural scored 13 points and moved up a little in the standings: at the moment it is 11th. Rostov, left with 25 points, will now certainly lose second place. Either both participants of the Sunday derby CSKA – Spartak (in case of a draw) or its winner will bypass it. The leader with 30 points is Zenit, which is playing away with Nizhny Novgorod.
