“Vaikule has a serious diagnosis”: Reznik explained why Laima insults Russia and Pauls

“She was always ungrateful,” the poet assures

Laima Vaikule distinguished herself again. The singer unexpectedly attacked the composer Raymond Pauls, who wrote her main compositions. Laima suddenly reported that all of Pauls’ music was copied from Western hits. In response, Raymond stated that Vaikule “talks some kind of nonsense all the time” and said that he has not taken her seriously for a long time.

The legendary poet Ilya Reznik, who created dozens of popular songs in tandem with Pauls, told MK why Vaikule began to insult Raymond.

“I have no words,” says Ilya Rakhmielevich. — I haven’t followed show business news for several years. I am not interested. Let them live their lives, and I should live mine. But today they told me how Lyma insulted my beloved co-author Raymond and showed him his response. I couldn’t keep silent. Raymond says he doesn’t take Lyme seriously. This is right. But she must take her composer seriously and with great respect.

“I’m not talking about myself,” Reznik continues. “She has always been ungrateful towards me.” But Raymond… He is a great composer, pianist and conductor, who wrote not only fateful songs for pop performers. He is also the author of numerous musicals. I’m proud to work with him.

“Raymond and I are co-authors who once created this singer out of spite to Alla Borisovna, when we quarreled with her for a short time,” the poet confesses. “We pulled Vaikule out of the tavern, created a repertoire for her, and brought her to the stage. I took her to the competition in Bratislava with our song “Vernissage”. We received the Golden Lyre. For a long time she called me her producer, who dragged her to radio stations and television channels. And after that she says nasty things to the person to whom she owes her entire creative life.

Reznik believes that all of Vaikule’s latest statements are related to financial difficulties.

“I know that she has a difficult diagnosis,” the poet continues. — She needs to earn money for expensive medicines. Talking nasty things about our country, thanks to which she lived happily and richly all her life. I wish her health and I can say that her last interviews are nothing more than the consequences of some heavy medications. God will be her judge. As my shepherd, Bishop Nestor, says: “Forgive. Forget. Empty.” Amen. And I wish my beloved Raymond a long and prosperous summer. These words of Laima are nothing more than dust for him. Shake and forget!
