Vacationers in Olenevka told about the “visit” of Ukrainian saboteurs

At first they were mistaken for poachers

On Wednesday morning, disturbing news came from the Black Sea camping Olenevka Village on Cape Tarkhankut in Crimea: at night, unidentified people fired at a peaceful recreation center, sailing from the sea in rubber boats. After that, it became known about an attempt to penetrate the peninsula of Ukrainian sabotage groups. We talked with vacationers in Olenevka.

A couple from the Moscow region, who have been in Olenevka for the second week, says that due to the proximity of the conflict zone, they often “bang” at night. But the people at the campsite were not pampered (although the camp site is new, but the conditions are rather Spartan) and are sympathetic to the fact that this is an air defense system that protects their own quiet rest.

“Now there are fewer people in the north-west of Crimea because of these “bahs,” says Andrey, the father of the family. – But who is here – those, as they say, in vests. No one ran either from the campsite or from the village. People swim, sunbathe, music plays. Everything is calm, perhaps also because there are not many children now, mostly adults and mostly divers.

– Didn’t the night shooting scare anyone?

– We have a part campsite with bungalows, part caravan site with caravans and a tent city. Closer to the sea are those who are in bungalows. They are actually on the beach.

Here, one of them did not sleep at about four in the morning and heard two explosions, and then, as if, shooting. Someone even went out and saw two boats, apparently made of rubber, with five people in each. These vacationers and told the rest.

Some slept so soundly that they didn’t hear anything at all. But one bullet hit the wall, so I didn’t see it for sure. And then everyone saw a message that at 4 am near Cape Tarkhankut, our security forces destroyed four boats with Ukrainian saboteurs. And we were shooting at about ten minutes to four. So, apparently, they were.

According to official reports, last night, near Olenevka, the Russian military eliminated a sabotage group of up to 20 people. Tourist Vladimir, who also heard the shooting at night, but did not stop his vacation in Olenevka with his company because of it, adds that the vacationers at first generally decided that our border guards were shooting, catching up with poachers:

– Since August 20, there has been a ban on catching mullet, – explains Vladimir. – Here are the people, having heard the shooting, and the first thing they thought about was illegal fishing. And then they found out about the saboteurs. We shot, but otherwise the situation here is very calm, resort-like. People are resting, cafes are open, boat trips have not been cancelled.

– Not a bit scared, everything goes on as usual, people go shopping, there are a lot of vacationers on the beach, – the tourist Nadezhda cheerfully confirms. – People relax, swim, love, drink and walk – everyone is safe, no one leaves, the village is open.

In the chat of the Olenevka village, everything is also calm – the locals are discussing tourists, the design of IZHS (individual housing construction. – Auth.) and upcoming parties.
