The governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Alexander Uss, at the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum (KEF) said that it is necessary to show “decisiveness and courage” in the movement of Siberia in an easterly direction. About it reported press service of the government of the region.
“Given the need to move from words to deeds in terms of moving to the East, we do not need an inertial scenario, we need a breakthrough. We can do it now. We are talking about the transition from the raw material orientation of the region to the creation of a large number of manufacturing high-tech industries,” Uss said.
The “driver” of such a transition should be enterprises – the raw material leaders of the region. “My personal conviction is that in crisis situations the role of the state should increase. <...> Speaking about the strategy for the development of Siberia, we need to show courage and determination in the search for new levers that will ensure movement in an eastern direction,” he said.
The key indicator that demonstrates the growth of the economy, according to the governor, is the index of industrial production – according to him, in the Krasnoyarsk Territory it grew by 3%. In particular, the regional authorities record a high level of investment activity.
KEF-2023 runs from 1 to 3 March. It is attended by representatives of 24 subjects of Russia, 11 foreign states and 16 international organizations. Traditionally, the theme of the forum is the development of Siberia, taking into account the current economic and geopolitical situation.
Dozens of new agreements between regional authorities and companies have already been signed within the framework of the forum. Signed cooperation agreements with five Krasnoyarsk companies Sberbankand the airline “Krasavia” and the Ural plant of civil aviation Deal for the delivery of 20 aircraft.
