Poland is a member of NATO, the allies in the North Atlantic Alliance are ready to defend its territory. This statement was made on Monday, July 24, by the representative of the US State Department Matthew Miller.
The official assured of the strength of the alliance with Poland and promised that “if necessary, we will defend every inch of NATO territory.”
Earlier, Zbigniew Hoffman, secretary of the Polish government’s security committee, said that Poland would transfer military formations from west to east due to exercises in Belarus. This statement followed reports that at a training ground near the Polish border, the Belarusian army began the exercise together with PMC “Wagner”.
Oil was added to the fire by the words of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, who said at a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Strelna that the “Wagnerites” began to strain him, who said they wanted to go to the West, on an excursion to Warsaw and Rzeszow.
Russian political scientist Sergei Markov did not see anything serious in the statements of the Wagnerites and expressed the opinion that in Strelna “Putin and Lukashenko are making some kind of mess against Poland”.
