Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswami ruled out Ukraine’s membership in NATO if he wins, RIA Novosti reports.
Ramaswamy wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter) that if he manages to win the presidential election, he guarantees that Kyiv will not receive NATO membership. He also promised to adjust US foreign policy and resume economic contacts with Russia.
“We … undertake that NATO will not accept Ukraine in exchange for Russia’s withdrawal from military cooperation with China, the transfer of nuclear weapons from Kaliningrad and the curtailment of military presence in the Western Hemisphere,” the politician said.
Earlier, Ramaswami had already appealed to the US authorities with a call to conclude a deal with Moscow on a similar scheme. Opinion polls give Ramaswamy about 3% of the vote.
