After equipping Russian Su-57 fighters with long-range cruise missiles, US military bases on the island of Guam and Hawaii were within their reach, writes the American magazine Military Watch.
Earlier it was reported about the creation of a cruise missile for these aircraft, which is located inside the fuselage and has a comparable range to the missiles that are in service with the Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers. It was possible to achieve a significant reduction in the size of the ammunition with the help of a perfectly honed folding wing design and internal layout. In addition, this was also facilitated by the use of a new small-sized bypass turbojet engine.
The article notes that if Su-57s armed with these missiles are deployed in the Far East, this will make it possible to strike a base in Guam without refueling. If the planes are deployed in Chukotka, then American bases in Hawaii will come under attack.
