US military bases in eastern fields subjected to rocket fire in Syria

The US military bases located in the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor were fired upon by unknown persons, the Lebanese-based Al-Mayadeen TV channel reported on Saturday.
According to the channel’s sources, several rockets exploded on the territory of the American bases at the Koniko gas field and at the Al-Omar oil field.
It is noted that US military helicopters are circling over the shelled field.
Earlier, another US base in Syria was attacked by a drone. One American was killed and several others were wounded. Washington blames the pro-Iranian Syrian formations, they were hit.
On Saturday night, US President Joe Biden said that he did not seek conflict with Iran, but would protect Americans under attack.
The United States currently has a small military presence in Syria. Basically, they keep a number of oil and gas fields under control there. Damascus demands the withdrawal of US troops from Syria.
