US intelligence believes that Netanyahu may lose his post as Prime Minister of Israel
The Office of the US Director of National Intelligence has released an annual report assessing global threats and the geopolitical situation in the world.
The document notes that, according to analysts, the political “stability” of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is declining.
“The position of Netanyahu and his ruling coalition of far-right and Orthodox parties, which pursued hard-line policies on the Palestinian issue and security issues, may be under threat… Public distrust in Netanyahu’s ability to govern has deepened and widened,” the document notes.
US intelligence also said that they expect “major protests” in Israel, accompanied by demands for the resignation of the prime minister and the holding of new elections.
