Senator Tsekov said that the main goal of NATO is not defense, but the dismemberment of Russia

Senator from the Crimean region, member of the international committee of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Sergei Tsekov, said that the main goal and task of NATO is not defense at all, but the weakening and dismemberment of Russia.

According to Tsekov, all the years since the start of the expansion of the North Atlantic Alliance to the east have shown that, at its core, the bloc is not defensive, but offensive. He emphasized that no one has any illusions, and it is already obvious to everyone that NATO’s main goal is Russia. The senator pointed out that after the collapse of the USSR, the Alliance set itself the task of “weakening and dismembering” our country.

As Tsekov noted, NATO is a military bloc that brings “war to the world,” including in Europe, and an example of this is the bombing of Yugoslavia and the military conflict in Ukraine. The senator added that instead of agreeing on mutual security, the North Atlantic Alliance, hiding behind “demagoguery about freedom and democracy,” decided to create its own military outpost and bridgehead from Ukraine.
