US imposes new export restrictions against Russia and Belarus

The US has introduced new restrictions on the export of more than 1,200 items to Russia and Belarus. About it stated US Department of Commerce.
Among the goods prohibited for export to Russia are building materials, fabrics, paper, paints, vehicles, including boats and equipment, including for the food industry. It is noted that the ban also applies to the transfer of goods to people and organizations in Russia.
In addition, restrictions have been imposed against 71 companies that threaten US interests. Among them are NPO Izhevsk Unmanned Systems, PJSC Proletarsky Zavod, NPK Tekhmash, Ulyanovsk Mechanical Plant, PJSC Kurganmashzavod, Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant, Bryansk Automobile Plant and Ural.
The Washington Institute of International Finance (IIF) assessed the sanctions policy against Russia as a failure. The effectiveness of measures in the first direction was initially doubtful, they write in the IIF. A similar result was shown by similar restrictions against Iran, writes in the IIF.
On May 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the participants of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum declaredthat the imposition of illegitimate sanctions and the breaking of treaties in the field of strategic security are damaging the international system.
