Erdogan: Turkish opposition will impose sanctions against Russia if they come to power

The current President of Turkey, Tayyip Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said that the Turkish opposition, if it comes to power, is going to impose tough sanctions against Russia.
The corresponding statement was made at a meeting of citizens’ associations in the Halić Congress Center, CNN Turk reports.
The Turkish leader promised to do everything to prevent this. According to him, Ankara is not going to fulfill all the demands of the West, in particular, regarding the imposition of new sanctions against Russia.
On the eve of the second round of the presidential elections in Turkey, the current leader of the country recalled the opposition’s statements about its readiness to rebuild relations with other states. Commenting on the attacks of his opponents on Russia, Erdogan invited them to prove their accusations, and then stated that “in fact, they have nothing.”
In the event of his victory in the elections, Erdogan promised not to succumb to pressure from Western countries and “do what we want, and not what the West demands.”
He also stated that he would not allow Turkish family institutions to give way to LGBT people,
Boris Dolgov, a senior fellow at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, earlier recalled the statements of the Turkish opposition leaders that if they win, Ankara’s policy towards Russia, although not hostile, will be more pro-Western, especially in terms of sanctions, so Turkey can join the anti-Russian restrictive measures.
