The US Treasury imposed sanctions against Kudrin and the head of the Smolensk region

The US Treasury Department has expanded the sanctions list for Russia by adding 16 Russian citizens to it. The blacklist included, among others, the former head of the Accounts Chamber, an adviser at Yandex, Alexei Kudrin.

The sanctions list also includes the first deputy head of the FSB, Sergei Korolev, several deputy heads of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Energy, the acting governor of the Smolensk Region, Vasily Anokhin, and a number of top managers.

Earlier Thursday, it became known about the expansion of Canada’s sanctions list, which included dozens of legal entities and individuals, including producer Iosif Prigozhin, actor Ivan Okhlobystin, director Nikita Mikhalkov, and singer Yulia Chicherina. Also on Thursday, the EU extended sanctions against the Russian Federation for another six months and expanded the sanctions list.
